Vámos a Cabo

At the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula lies one of my all-time favorite spots—Cabo San Lucas. It’s a place where the sun seems to shine every single day, the ocean views take your breath away, and the sunsets and sunrises light up the sky with the most amazing colors. On top of that, Cabo is packed with rich culture, incredible art, and a strong connection to tradition.

When we decided to build a vacation home here, I knew it wasn’t going to be just any project—it was going to be an adventure. We were creating our dream destination from the ground up, so we put together an amazing international team to bring it to life.

The inspiration came easily. Cabo’s stunning ocean views and its signature open-air living concept set the tone. I wanted the home to feel modern and sleek but also deeply connected to the region’s culture and craftsmanship. For me, it was all about finding that perfect balance between contemporary design and the artistry of local makers.

Our design is centered around letting the outdoors in. Picture floor-to-ceiling windows framing those unreal Pacific Ocean views. Sliding glass walls open to terraces, courtyards, and breezy spaces where you can enjoy the sunshine and fresh air all day long. It’s a layout that makes the most of Cabo’s amazing weather and scenery.

To make the space truly unique, we collaborated with local artisans who brought so much heart to the project. Custom wood furniture, local stone walls, woven textiles, and vibrant artwork give the home a personality that’s undeniably Cabo. We used natural materials, reclaimed wood, and ceramics to tie everything back to the region’s heritage, while keeping a clean, modern vibe.

The finished home will be everything we dreamed of—and more. It’s a place where the line between indoors and outdoors disappears, where you can watch the sunrise over the water or host a laid-back dinner under a canopy of stars. It’s modern and elegant but still warm, welcoming, and full of soul.

Cabo is more than just a vacation destination for us now; it’s part of our story. And this home? It’s a reflection of everything we love about this incredible place. We have so many fun stories about sourcing in Mexico—sometimes it was an adventure, and sometimes it was a challenge.  We cannot wait to share them with you once the install is complete.  — Diane
